Mya is our senior girl and the wise leader of the pack. She may not be a Labrador, but she runs the show with a mix of patience, sass, and love.
How We Met
Mya is a rescue, found with her mom and puppy siblings by my vet in Detroit Michigan on a very cold 🥶 February day in 2013. Her mom was doing her best caring for 10 puppies while being homeless and living under an abandoned house. Once rescued, Dr. Steve vetted all the puppies and their mom, gave them a warm, cozy place to stay and healthy food until the puppies were weaned. He then found forever homes 🏡 for all puppies and mama too. Mya was about 4 weeks old when rescued and we welcomed her into our loving home when she was 7 weeks old. I was able to visit her often while she was still with her mom and siblings at the vet’s office, it was so nice to watch this tiny baby grow into the great dog she is today. She has been with me for 12 years now and has always been there when I needed her. She loves giving hugs 🤗 and kisses 💋 and knows when I really need them most. I often wonder who rescued who… Pretty sure she rescued me, I can’t even imagine life without her.♥️
Mya’s Senior Years
At 12 years old, she’s the heart of the pack. Mya spends her days lounging on the patio, keeping an eye on the lake, enjoying summer boat rides, and reminding her younger sisters—Olive and Nellie—that she was here first. She doesn’t chase every ball 🎾 or splash 💦 in every puddle, but when she does join in, everyone knows it’s special. Seeing her age and the grey setting in around her muzzle is hard on my heart, knowing she won’t be here forever. We make every day count and let her know how much we love her.💕
Mya’s Favorite Things
Her favorite things? Sunbathing 🌞, gentle lake breezes, and making sure the younger two don’t get too out of line. She’s a true pack leader at heart and has taught us all what it means to slow down and savor the good stuff. She loves to curl up for cuddle time too on the cold winter days, and belly rubs are a bonus.
Our Steady Heart
Life wouldn’t be the same without our Mya. She’s our constant, our calm, and the one who makes sure every adventure ends with everyone home, safe and happy. She is a true definition of love in every way. ♥️ Thank you for rescuing me my love. ♥️🐾♥️

From tiny puppy naps to winter coats, from big smiles to peaceful afternoons in the sun — Mya reminds us that every stage of life is beautiful.
